About Bowl Philosophy

Bowl Philosophy (by Odeon) is a Cape Town blog, our focus is on lifestyle and the highs emanating from the Mother City’s Bowl, South Africa and indeed the mapped universe. Our interests are diverse but refined, our humour dry but palatable and our opinions given freely. Of course there are somber periods, days where our discourse resembles a chameleon on a smartie box and the odd moment of sublime clarity

I can’t tell where the journey will take us, but I can promise you that the ride will be colourful and hopefully impart some inspiration.

We look forward to you joining us as our quest takes us to the physical, the metaphysical, the delusional, and back.

    I want to tell you about a project I am working on and want to firstly invite you to enter, plus I was hoping you would put us on your site, promote us in your network, or get involved further somehow.

    After the World Cup ended I got thinking about the fact that, although the Vuvuzela is synonymous with South Africa, the vast majority were made in China and thus a great initiative would be to create a platform that creatives could collaborate and devise ways to reuse the Vuvuzela. My thinking is recycling chews up too much energy and it would be great to keep them out of out landfills.

    Take a look and let me know what you think and if there is any way you could help us gather even more momentum. There is R10 000 up for grabs as well as 50 exhibition spaces. The best ideas will be handed over to community arts and craftsmen for them to start generating their own revenue. Ultimately we hope to get these reuse products on shelves locally and abroad.

    I’ve attached one of the entries so you can get a feel for the project.
