All Blacks at the breakdown

Much time has been spent trying to figure out exactly what has gone so terribly wrong for the Springboks recently. Although the general consensus is that their most experienced players have let them down (possibly due to being overplayed) and their defence is a shambles there has been much talk of the inconsistency of the refs.

IRB boss Paddy O’Brien has said that he is happy with the refereeing but let’s be honest it has not been great. Did the ref have give a good display in the second Test in Wellington, as Paddy has said? Have a look at the analysis below and then decide (yes, I am talking to you Paddy O’Douche).

  1. Paddy O’Bullsh.t, this is unbelievable

  2. Great analysis. Watching the games in real time I had a disquieting sense the ABs were illegal at the breakdown: thanks for pointing out just how dodgy they were. Early on in the last year’s TriNations they were pinged for the same and it showed on the scoreboard. I only hope rugby’s administrators take note.

  3. I agree Dave. when there is so littel seperating the teams, when you get no momnetum because of crappy refs, things can snowball pretty badly.

Also i once heard Paddy O Brien has a poster of Richie McCaw on his bedroom wall. True Story

  4. I heard Paddy O’Brien is a national champion at pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey

  5. I heard Paddy has done all kinds of things to donkeys.

  6. I’ve seen tow trucks behave with more etiquette at a breakdown. Refereeing FAIL!

  7. Paddy was a cheat as a ref and is exercising even greater manipulation of the game now that he is the big stinky cheese. Awesome site, we need to get more people to view this and we need more analysis like this. How can we get footage of games in order to do this.

  8. Paddy use to blow a shit game of rugby, since he removed the whistle he now talks a whole load of shit. He’s like Vince McMahon from WWE and he thinks that all the results can be rigged. I think he’s the TOSSER of all TOSSERS!!!

  9. You Bok supporters are a bunch of girls – why don’t you go and watch netball. At least Australia even recognises they were beaten by a far better team, yet you guys are stilling having a whinge about a game that was history two weeks ago. Take the defeat on board, get rid of your clown coach, bring some new blood into your team and you may not be the laughing spectacle that you currently are.

  10. @ David *cough*Suzi*cough cough* sorry I always seem to CHOKE over that word.

No doubt the All Blacks are the better team at present, we’d just like a level playing field to have a crack at the All Blacks. Wouldn’t we love to have a savvy tactician managing the Sprinkboks, but like it or not we’re stuck with PDivvy, and please don’t call him a clown, clowns are meant to make you laugh not cry!

  11. […] The refereeing of the breakdown is where much of the controversy has fallen and is staying. It has seemingly found a happy home there and looks to be renting it out for the season. Check out this little bit of thought provoking and indeed anger inducing (at least by Bok fans) analysis. […]

  12. Good luck to both sides this Sat – refereeing always a topic with opposing views, all sides do the same things at ruck time (why is it called a ruck when rucking is illegal?) and there’s an old saying “play to the whistle. perhaps the All Blacks just doing it better this year than others plus they are certainly significantly better coached than the Boks. I remember Naas saying ‘big boys don’t cry!!” Cheers
