The Social Network

David Fincher’s ‘The Social Network’ is out in October, state side that is, no word on the SA release date yet. This film deals with the rise of one of the most significant phenomenons that has occurred in the last few years, the advent of stalkbook, also know as facebook.

The film is adapted from Ben Mezrich’s 2009 book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding Of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal.

What really pricked my interest on this film was the announcement that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross would score the film. Reznor had this to say about it: “Speaking of the film… it’s really firetrucking good. And dark!” That’s a pretty confident vote from the producer who’s masterpieces have accompanied films like Lost Highway, Natural born Killers, Man on Fire, se7en and The Crow. Ironic too that Reznor’s part of The Social Network’s production given that he’s been quite heavily embroiled with the web and content distribution over the years.

The film looks pretty good, and the cover of Radiohead’s Creep by the Belgium Girls Choir, Scala adds some pertinent embellishment to the trailer.

No doubt millions of people will ‘like’ it, sorry, couldn’t resist.

  1. I DON’T THINK TRENT REZNOR HAS EVER USED THE WORD “FIRETRUCKING” AM I RITE

  2. I actually heard a radio edit for ‘Closer’ in which he sang ‘I want to firetruck you like an animal’ performed as a duet with Tina Turner – look it up.

  3. you’re right, your spelling’s not.
